Mead Festival-Homebrew Entry Deadline Extended
Homebrew Entry Deadline has been extended to
December 15th. Please send all entries to the Brew
Hut: 15108 East Hampden Avenue, Aurora Colorado 80014,
303-680-8898.
1st Round Judging – January 2005. Second round judging and medal
announcements will occur on site at the February, 2006 festival.
Therefore, entries only need to be shipped 1x! We will pull the
top three winners from each category to be judged in second round
judging. Winners will be announced on site at the mead festival.

This
event happens every Thursday night. $3 drink specials including
the Lost Sunrise Mead Cocktail made with Black Raspberry Nectar.
Karaoke, prizes and tons of fun! December 8th we will
be there giving out samples as well as great Redstone Meadery tank tops

Mom's Gingersnap Pumpkin
Pie-Pair with Vanilla Beans & Cinnamon
Sticks Mead
Crust:

Gingersnaps, finely crushed

1/2 tablespoons melted butter
2
tablespoons granulated sugar
Pie
Filling:
1
1/2 cups canned pumpkin puree
1/4
cup packed dark brown sugar
1
tablespoon cornstarch
1
teaspoon ground cinnamon
1
teaspoon pure vanilla extract
a
pinch of salt
a
dash of nutmeg

large egg whites, lightly beaten
1
large egg, lightly beaten
12
oz. can fat free evaporated milk
Crust:
combine crust ingredients in a bowl. Toss with a fork until moist
and press into the bottom of a 9" pie plate. Bake at 325° for
5 minutes. Cool.
Filling:
Combine all pie filling ingredients in a bowl. Pour into pie
crust and bake at 325° oven for 1 hour. Cool and serve with
homemade whipped cream.
