Hey folks. In
September we’ll be visiting the following markets, sharing mead,
stories and fun. We would love to see you…
Seattle: This month look
for the ‘Chairman of the Mead’ Tuesday, September 13 at Beverage Place
Pub from 4-6 pm and Dog & Pony at 7 pm on. Wednesday the 14th
he’ll be at Bottleworks from 5-7 pm and then Barking Dog from 7:30 pm
on.
Baltimore: Then it’s to the
East Coast on September 20 for a promotion at ‘Max’s on Broadway’.
San Diego: Folks can hang
with Redstone at the 11th Annual Festival of Beers in downtown San Diego on
Friday, September 23rd from 6pm-11pm. You can choose to sample
from 100 different breweries at this fun event. http://www.sdbeerfest.org/. Also
catch us at O’Brien’s Pub from 5:30-8:30 pm, the night before the
festival on September 22. Please spread the word.

It’s that time
again. We say every year it should be a national holiday so every
appreciator can attend. Over 20,000 people motivate to enjoy the
GABF and we’d love to see you there. Ticket information is at http://www.gabf.org. Festival dates
are: Thursday, September 29 – Saturday, October 1.
This
Month’s’ Mead/Food Pairing: Vegetarian Tostados and Sunshine Nectar
Vegetarian
Tostadas
(serves 6)
2 teaspoon olive
oil
1 cup onion,
diced small
2 cloves garlic
minced
1 cup red
potatoes diced small
1 cup Sweet
potatoes, diced small
1 cup zucchini,
diced small
1 15 oz. can
black beans
1 cup frozen
sweet corn
2 tablespoons
chili powder
2 teaspoons
oregano
2 teaspoons basil
2 teaspoons
ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
6 whole wheat
flour tortillas
cooking spray
kosher salt
Italian seasoning
guacamole
salsa
shredded cheddar
cheese
cilantro
Preheat oven to
350°. Spray tortillas with cooking spray and sprinkle with
salt and Italian seasonings. Bake in oven until crisp and
brown. Meanwhile, heat sauté pan to medium heat and add
oil. When hot, add onions, and garlic. Sauté approx.
5 minutes then add remaining vegetables except black beans and corn.
Sauté another 5 minutes then add seasonings. Sauté
1 minute and add water. Simmer mixture until potatoes are
tender. Stir in beans and corn, heat until all ingredients are
hot and water is pretty much evaporated. Serve on toasted flour
tortillas and garnish with guacamole, salsa, shredded cheese, and fresh
cilantro! Enjoy with a cold glass of Sunshine Nectar.
